The head of the electoral committee of the American state of Wisconsin, Megan Wolfe, commented on the demand of the headquarters of US President Donald Trump, who is trying to be re-elected for a second term, for a recount. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the CNN TV channel.

“Our elections were clear, and voters need to be confident in the procedures, in the laws that we followed, to ensure that every ballot was counted,” she said.

Wolfe added that there was already a recount in Wisconsin in 2016, so polling officials are familiar with the process. According to her, if necessary, the recount will take place at the level of the districts, where it will be decided on the ground whether it is necessary to conduct a check manually or whether you can use equipment.

Earlier, Trump's headquarters demanded a recount of votes in Wisconsin. Trump's headquarters believe that social polls that were conducted in the state were used “as a tactic to suppress the will of voters.” In Wisconsin, after processing all ballots, Biden has 49.6 percent of the vote, while Trump has 49.

General Election Day was held in the United States on November 3. Citizens elected a president and vice president, 35 senators, the entire House of Representatives, 13 governors and local government representatives.
