The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called the statements of the head of the Georgian government about the Revolution of Dignity and the struggle of the Ukrainian people for freedom and independence "unacceptable and outrageous".
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze criticized the events of Euromaidan in Ukraine in the spirit of Russian propaganda, in fact calling the Revolution of Dignity the reason for the violation of the territorial integrity of the country and the death of tens of thousands of people.
His words are quoted by Sova.
“Until 2013, Ukraine was a country with territorial integrity, and its economy was worth 200 billion dollars. Today this country is a collapsed country. After so many years, its economy has declined significantly. Also, 20% of the territory of Ukraine is occupied, tens of thousands have died person. Who is responsible for this? No one,” said Kobakhidze, not mentioning Russian aggression in a single word, but instead noting that “no one in Georgia will wait for the Maidan.”
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to the scandalous statement of the head of the Georgian government, calling his statements about the Revolution of Dignity and the struggle of the Ukrainian people for freedom and independence “unacceptable and outrageous.”
“It is annoying to observe the consistent and constant degradation of the political statements of the Prime Minister of Georgia, which recently are difficult to distinguish from statements of the Russian leadership,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on Georgian politicians to refrain from such statements and not repeat Russian narratives.
“Not Ukraine, which is defending itself, but exclusively Russia, which treacherously attacked our land, is responsible for thousands of lost lives, the destruction of Ukrainian cities and villages… The Russian Federation must be punished for all crimes committed in Ukraine , Georgia and other countries over the past decades,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Recall that earlier the United States State Department reminded the Georgian authorities that it is Russia that is trying to drag Tbilisi into the war, and not Western countries.
