The Russian drug, created to treat severe lung damage, has helped to reduce deaths from coronavirus by five times. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper.
It is noted that patients felt better immediately after inhalation of the drug, which was obtained from the lungs of cattle. In particular, this was recorded by doctors in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen and Syktyvkar.
According to the publication, the drug helped reduce mortality among patients with severe coronavirus from 80 percent (the global average) to 14.3 percent. 24 out of 28 such patients recovered.
In September, scientists at Osaka University in Japan found a way to combat cytokine over-activation in severe COVID-19, leading to a deadly cytokine storm. Prior to this, there was no specific immunotherapy to treat this condition.
