During flights, the United States and Russia may discover vulnerabilities.

In NATO On March 4, one of the largest exercises, Nordic Response 2024, will start, which will take place near the Russian borders. They will involve more than 20 thousand military personnel, more than 50 warships and more than 110 aircraft – from fighters to helicopters.

Bulgarianmilitary.com writes about this.

The test will allow the US to conduct test flights of the F-35 to scan Russian S-300 and S-400 units based in the Northern Military District.

During flights, the US and Russia may discover vulnerabilities.

The F-35 has the ability to easily scan and locate the S-400. The aircraft is armed with stealth capabilities and can employ a variety of approaches, such as low-altitude flight. In addition, the F-35 is equipped with a sophisticated AN/ASQ-239 Barracuda electronic warfare system, which is known for its ability to jam Russian radars,” the report said.

The S-400 radars are in active mode, they will be able to scan the F-35 avionics and can detect the F-35 by the aircraft's radar cross-section.

What consequences could there be for the USA and the Russian Federation

The most advanced models of military equipment in the world F-35 Lightning II and S-400 “Triumph” – have their own unique capabilities. Potentially, they could reveal a huge amount of information to the enemy.

“If S- 400 successfully scanned the F-35, he could potentially learn more about the aircraft's stealth characteristics. This may include the shape and materials used in the aircraft's design that contribute to its ability to evade radar detection. In addition, the F-35 is equipped with a sophisticated array of sensors and electronic warfare capabilities. If the S-400 were to scan the F-35, it might be able to collect data on these systems,” the report added .

Despite this, the Russian Federation may come in and risk sending its SU-57 in close proximity to NATO and F-35 exercises.

“However, although the stealth element of these fighters is very effective at a distance, according to experts, the F-35 can detect the elusive Su-57 even from a closer range,” – writes the publication.

We also wrote that NATO members in private conversations say about a Russian attack on one of the Alliance countries as a danger requiring an immediate response, since they doubt that the United States will maintain its traditional role in defending Europe as part of NATO.
