Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that in the event of “recognition” by the Russian Federation of the “L/DPR”, sanctions against the Kremlin should be imposed “quickly and decisively”.

He wrote about this on his Twitter.

– The call of the State Duma of Russia to recognize the occupied territories of Ukraine is an open escalation. The Kremlin's approval must be met with swift and decisive sanctions, Minister Landsbergis said.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the possible recognition by Russia of the separatist formations of the “DPR” and “LPR” is a violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and international law.

Recall that on February 15, the State Duma of the Russian Federation supported a resolution on an appeal to Vladimir Putin on the “recognition” of the terrorist pseudo-state formations “DPR” and “LPR”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reacted to this. They called Russia's possible recognition of the “L/DPR” a conscious withdrawal from the Minsk agreements.
