On January 11, two high-speed trams collided at the Strasbourg train station. As a result, more than 20 people were injured.
BFMTV reported this.
According to media reports, the accident occurred at the Gare Centrale stop, and authorities have now sent “numerous resources” to the scene to help the victims.
Police sources to which BFMTV has access noted that the cause of the mass accident was an error in switching tracks.
The TV channel had the opportunity to talk to one of the tram passengers, who, fortunately, was not injured.
“When the impact occurred, the passengers fell on top of each other,” said passenger.
He noticed what happened to the woman, who remained lying on the ground after the accident, while other people got up.
The accident caused “significant disruptions” on the tram lines. Because of which trams no longer have access to the central station.
Recall that in France, the driver of a high-speed TGV train, carrying more than 400 passengers at a speed of 300 kilometers per hour, committed suicide by jumping from the cabin.
