British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said she was indifferent to the insults from her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov and would continue to pursue her goals of resolving the Ukraine crisis. The quote is from Reuters.

“We are concerned about a government that is expansionist, that seeks to undermine democracy on its border, and we will speak about it publicly. To be honest, I don’t care what insults Sergei Lavrov inflicts on me, I will continue to insist on my own,” the diplomat said.

Reuters notes that we are talking about Lavrov's statement following the meeting with Truss, in which he called the dialogue with the West a conversation with the deaf. “Frankly, I am disappointed that we are succeeding in a conversation between a deaf and a mute. We seem to listen, but we do not hear. At least our most detailed explanations [on the situation around Ukraine] generally fell on unprepared ground,” the Foreign Minister said.
