The command did not report the number of casualties.
During training, a US Air Force plane was involved in an accident and crashed over the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
The Daily Mail writes about this.
According to the US European Command (EUCOM), the plane was conducting training exercises and subsequently experienced an “accident that led to the crash.”
At the same time, the authorities did not name the number of victims. However, they emphasized that the plane did not crash as a result of any attack.
“Out of respect for the affected families, we will not be releasing further information about the personnel involved at this time. The cause of the training incident is under investigation. However, we can say for sure that the flight was purely a training flight and there are no signs of hostile activity,” EUCOM said in a statement.
The day before, EUCOM announced that three days of naval exercises took place in the Mediterranean Sea, where two carrier strike groups have been stationed since the start of the Israeli-Hamas war. 11,000 military personnel took part in these exercises.
EUCOM consists of 65,000 permanent military personnel responsible for US military operations in Europe, parts of Asia and the Middle East, the Arctic and the Atlantic Ocean.
