Ukraine continues to increase production of Ukrainian blue fuel. During the full-scale war, all gas producing companies laid almost 300 new wells. Among them — about 70 wells this year.
In particular, 41 wells were drilled by Naftogaz Group enterprises. At the same time, 14 of these new wells produce more than 100 thousand cubic meters. m of gas per day.
Will Ukrainians have enough gas in winter
For six months of 2024, Naftogaz Group companies have already produced 7.3 billion cubic meters. m of commercial gas. This is 8% more than in the same period last year.

Naftogaz is actively preparing for the heating season. Almost 10 billion cubic meters have already been pumped into underground storage facilities. m of gas. Plan before the cold starts — accumulate 13.2 billion cubic meters. m.
As the head of the board and CEO of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Alexey Chernyshov notes, this should be enough for all consumers, including electricity producers.
— Naftogaz is concerned about providing Ukrainians and relevant enterprises with additional volumes of gas. We are constantly increasing production. Based on the results of the first half of the year, we exceeded gas production. This allows us to be optimistic about the winter we are expecting.
I also guarantee that Naftogaz will provide all the needs that will be needed to get through this winter, including additional generation and equipment that will require these volumes of gas, — states Alexey Chernyshov.
Naftogaz assures that the upcoming heating season should be the second in a row that Ukraine will go through without importing blue fuel from abroad. According to the plan, Ukrainians will be able to survive the winter exclusively on domestically produced gas.
