The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War has not yet confirmed Moscow's claims that the bodies of defenders who likely died in the crash of the IL-76 aircraft were allegedly handed over to Ukraine.
This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Supreme Command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on Monday, December 9.
Ukraine is additionally identifying the transferred remains of the dead
It is noted that during the latest repatriation activities, remains of the dead requiring additional identification were transferred from Russia to Ukraine.

— As of now, expert institutions are establishing within the framework of criminal proceedings whether the remains of these individuals really belong to Ukrainian servicemen, — the statement says.
The headquarters added that they are monitoring the situation and are in contact with all authorized institutions.
Ukraine's ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets also responded to Moscow's statements.
He also confirmed that during a series of recent repatriation events, the remains of the dead were handed over to Ukraine. Identification is currently underway.
Lubinets noted that he is in contact with all relevant services on this issue.
The Crash of the Il-76 Aircraft in the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation on January 24
On January 24, a Russian military transport aircraft Il-76 crashed in the Korocha District of the Belgorod Region.
Russian media reported that there were allegedly 65 prisoners on board, three people who accompanied them, and six crew members.
Meanwhile, according to the Ukrainian side, the plane could have been carrying S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles.
The UN subsequently stated that they could not verify the information about the circumstances of the Il-76 crash.
