“I’m selling them now to help my country during the war.” Putting the medals up for auction was not an easy decision. They are really very valuable for me and for the sports history of Ukraine. Many countries are helping us in the unjust war with Russia, and for this we thank everyone,” Abramenko said.

He added that he helps the military with their immediate needs through volunteering. There are also many people who need financial help due to the war, some of them have lost everything.

According to Abramenko, this is why he decided that his medals would be useful and would bring our victory closer.

Alexander Abramenko won a gold medal at the 2018 Olympics in Pyongyang, Korea, in sports acrobatics and a silver medal at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.
