The West has opposition: why did the United States deploy nuclear bombers near the border of Ukraine Angela Figin

The United States has deployed two nuclear B-52H Stratofortress bomber near the borders of Ukraine. They arrived at one of the air bases of the Romanian Air Force and took part in Operation Bomber Task Force Europe 24-4.

On air 24 Channel international security expert Taras Zhovtenko explained what and to whom the United States is hinting in the geopolitical space.

What Russia is being reminded of

From a military-technical point of view, the transfer of American bombers to Romania is a logical continuation of the military steps that the United States, together with its Western allies, began to do back in 2022 in response to nuclear blackmail from Putin’s Russia.

The United States and European countries realized that in order to calm down at least at some level the Kremlin’s nuclear blackmail, it is necessary not only to respond verbally to threats, but also to show practical readiness, he said Zhovtenko.

This was recently well formulated by French President Emmanuel Macron, who, in response to one of the latest nuclear threats, said that we must not forget that Paris also has nuclear weapons.

Russia is not allowed to forget that the United States and NATO also have nuclear arsenals and modern and technological means of supply that are no match for Russia’s,” noted international security expert.

For Russians, the B-52H bomber is an analogue of the Russian Tu-95. The B-52H, unlike the Tu-95, is a strategic jet bomber. In terms of its technical capabilities, the American bomber remains much further than the Russian one.

US demonstrate practical skills

First of all, the Americans demonstrate to the Russians that they have strategic means of delivering nuclear weapons and the United States and its allies are ready to use these means of deterring Russia to protect NATO countries, which is why the B-52Hs are now in Romania.

In particular, a few weeks ago they were in northern Europe and practiced striking Russian Kaliningrad,” added Zhovtenko.

According to him, in this way the United States demonstrates that it is already developing practical skills.

By the way, on Sunday, July 21, two American bombers B-52Hs made their first training flight near the Russian border in Finland.
