The United States has deployed two nuclear B-52H Stratofortress bomber near the borders of Ukraine. They arrived at one of the air bases of the Romanian Air Force and took part in Operation Bomber Task Force Europe 24-4.

From a military-technical point of view, the transfer of American bombers to Romania is a logical continuation of the military steps that the United States, together with its Western allies, began to do back in 2022 in response to nuclear blackmail from Putin’s Russia.

The United States and European countries realized that in order to calm down at least at some level the Kremlin’s nuclear blackmail, it is necessary not only to respond verbally to threats, but also to show practical readiness, he said Zhovtenko.

This was recently well formulated by French President Emmanuel Macron, who, in response to one of the latest nuclear threats, said that we must not forget that Paris also has nuclear weapons.

For Russians, the B-52H bomber is an analogue of the Russian Tu-95. The B-52H, unlike the Tu-95, is a strategic jet bomber. In terms of its technical capabilities, the American bomber remains much further than the Russian one.

US demonstrate practical skills

First of all, the Americans demonstrate to the Russians that they have strategic means of delivering nuclear weapons and the United States and its allies are ready to use these means of deterring Russia to protect NATO countries, which is why the B-52Hs are now in Romania.
