Ukrainian drones attacked the Lipetsk-2 military airfield and the Sverdlov plant in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. Previously, the occupiers used the airfield to improve the qualifications of pilots, and hid what they produced at the plant.

The head of the Center for Military and Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, told Channel 24 about this, noting that the enemy stored aviation weapons at the airfield. Meanwhile, the occupiers produced them and stored missiles at the plant.

What the Russians stored at the Lipetsk-2 airfield and the Sverdlov plant

This is not the first time Ukrainian drones have attacked the Lipetsk-2 airfield. This is one of the oldest airbases in Russia. The airbase is known for being a training ground for the Luftwaffe, the air force of the Third Reich, before the start of World War II.

Its special feature now is that it houses a pilot retraining center, i.e. advanced training, and a flight improvement center, which is aimed at improving their skills on aircraft, starting with the Su-57.

This airbase is unique for Russia, as it has all types of Su and MiG-31 aircraft. Since the base is now a large training center, there is a large area with warehouses for aviation weapons, that is, missiles and KABs, Musienko noted.

The head of the Center explained that after Ukrainian troops successfully struck Russian airfields in different places in the border zone, the enemy was forced to redeploy and relocate its aircraft. The occupiers began to use those airfields where they once conducted advanced training for pilots and improved the technical condition of aircraft.

As for the Sverdlov plant in Dzerzhinsk, the Russians hid the reality of its products. Allegedly, the enemy produced only explosives for the mining industry there. In fact, the plant was included in the military-industrial complex of Russia.

It produces demolition devices and explosives for the same KABs and missiles. Moreover, it was established that the missiles themselves were stored there, Musienko added.

By the way, this plant is located 900 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. It is under US and EU sanctions.
