The product selection service provided statistics on search queries among Russians in the period from September 11, 2019 to September 10, 2020. The report was timed to coincide with the presentation of new Apple products. The most popular smartphone was the iPhone 11 with 64 and 128 gigabytes of storage, followed by the iPhone XR and iPhone 11 Pro in second and third places. Yandex experts noticed that demand for Apple phones is traditionally high at the end of November, on New Year's Eve, March 8 and the company's autumn presentation.
Also, Russians are interested in purchasing other gadgets of the American brand. In particular, headphones, which accounted for about 20 percent of user clicks in the category in the service. The most popular headset turned out to be the second generation AirPods, followed by the AirPods Pro with noise canceling and AirPods 2 with a case that supports wireless charging. The most popular Apple laptops are the MacBook Air 13 Mid 2017, MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2019 and MacBook Air 13 Mid 2019.
The peak demand for tablets, according to representatives of Yandex.Market, falls on New Year's Eve, November and September. This may be due to the beginning of a new school year – “one tablet can replace a stack of textbooks.” The most popular model among users was the iPad (2019) with an average cost of about 28 thousand rubles. Interest in smartwatches arises before the New Year, February 14 and March 8 – in the “season of gifts”. The most popular gadget in this category was the Apple Watch Series 3.
Apple's fall presentation will begin on September 15 at 20:00 Moscow time. At the event, the company is expected to showcase new generations of Apple Watch and iPad tablets. The iPhone 12 line is expected to be unveiled at a later date.
