Ukraine is disappointed with the statement by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico regarding our soldiers, which goes against the existing level of trust and interaction between the states.
This was stated by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgiy Tykhyi, commenting on the statements by the Prime Minister of Slovakia.
Robert Fico made a scandalous statement during his visit to the Holocaust Museum in the Slovak town of Sered. According to him, the international community must recognize that troops that allegedly “use Nazi symbols and often behave this way” cannot be allowed to fight in Ukraine.

What the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to Fico's statement
— Ukrainian soldiers are now defending their families, homes and country, as well as all of Europe and the free world from Russian invaders, designated by the Latin letters Z —, a symbol of the fascist aesthetics of modern Russia, — the statement says.
According to the Foreign Ministry spokesman, countering Russian aggression for Ukrainians is a continuation of the history of our people's resistance to totalitarian regimes in the last century.
For example, in the 20th century, Ukrainians suffered multi-million losses in the fight against Nazism, carrying out armed resistance as part of various regular armies and resistance movements on the side of the anti-Hitler coalition.
They made a significant contribution to the victory over Nazism and the allies of Hitler's Germany, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman recalled the tragic history of the Holocaust, during which the Nazis committed terrible acts against 1.5 million Ukrainian Jews atrocities.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expects Slovakia and all European partners to join forces in countering the Russian evil, which has brought atrocities unseen since World War II.
The Foreign Ministry notes that it remains committed to further constructive dialogue, which is consistent with the good-neighborly relations between the Slovak and Ukrainian peoples.
