On December 22, a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) was held. During it, a common understanding was reached of the need to restore the ceasefire. These are measures that were agreed on July 22, 2020.
According to the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the TCG, the meeting testifies to optimism regarding the possible de-escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine and the unblocking of the peace process.

According to Kostin, the Ukrainian side is completely ready to ensure silence, but it is important to see the readiness from the other side.
The decision was also commented on by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak . He expressed the hope that this time the ceasefire will be sustainable and help save the lives of Ukrainian defenders and civilians.

The Department of Defense and the Armed Forces welcomed the decision reached in during the negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported readiness to comply with the ceasefire .
