Sunak officially resigns, Keir Starmer becomes Britain's new prime minister

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced his resignation from his post. He also said that he was resigning as head of the Conservative Party.

Sunak also wished Labor leader Keir Starmer success as prime minister. Sunak then went to an audience with King Charles III, where the monarch accepted his resignation.

Keir Starmer — new British Prime Minister

After Sunak’s resignation, Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer and his wife arrived at Buckingham Palace for an audience with the king.

King Charles III formally invited him to form a government and become prime minister. Then he left the palace. Keir Starmer became the 58th Prime Minister of Great Britain.
