On July 7, an accident occurred with the destroyer Sahand in the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. It belongs to the Iranian Navy.

Media reports that the newest destroyer, which is a Mouj-class frigate, was just undergoing repair work . Part of it went under water.

Iranian information resources claim that the cause of the accident was a technical malfunction, which led to water entering the ship.

As a result, part of the destroyer went under water. The incident occurred near a repair complex near the port of Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan province.

There have been no official comments from representatives of the Iranian naval forces yet. However, local media noted that the destroyer tilted heavily during repairs at the pier and eventually fell on its side.
