Shortened working week will be introduced for three months.
Russian car manufacturer AvtoVAZ transfers all employees to a 4-day work week at production sites in Tolyatti and Izhevsk from June 6. The company explained this decision with a “significant shortage of supplies of electronic components.”
The company officially announced this in a press release.
The company's employees will switch to a shortened working week in June.
Employees will also be offered temporary public works.
“Also, in order to maintain the level of income of employees during the 4-day working week, the management of AVTOVAZ, together with the Governor of the Samara Region, turned to the Government of Russia for support with a request for allocation of funds for the organization of temporary and public works, including at the site of the AVTOVAZ Industrial Park, with payment for the 5th day at the expense of the federal budget. These funds have already been allocated,” the message says.
