Russia will not be able to fight for another 5-6 years, as Western journalists write. The maximum that the Russian economy is capable of is finishing 2024. After January 1, the lack of funds to continue the war will become more noticeable.

Former Russian Energy Minister and oppositionist Vladimir Milov shared this assumption with Channel 24. This year, the federal budget deficit is equal to approximately half of the “live” money that remains in the so-called “Russian National Welfare Fund.”

If the Russians cover the deficit from January 1, 2025, they will have 2.5 trillion rubles left. This will be enough to finance military needs for two to three months. In fact, Russia has no financial reserves left.

What don't they try. For example, they significantly increase taxes, but it is still not enough. In general, I have the impression that Putin wants to hold out until the American elections in November, wait for Trump to win, and then the plan will show, – noted Vladimir Milov.

By the end of September, the Russian authorities must submit to the State Duma a draft law on the federal budget for 2025. After its publication, it will become clear how big the “military hole” is.

According to my forecasts, we should expect an increase in military spending again. Given that oil is falling and the Russian budget as a whole has serious problems with the revenue side. Entering 2025 will be extremely painful, – noted the former Russian Energy Minister.

Next year, the Russians will no longer be able to continue their cavalry spending policy. It is not a matter of years, but of months. We need to continue the sanctions pressure and deprive Putin of the rest of his money.
