Observers from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) decided to stay in the United States. This was announced by the head of the OSCE / ODIHR observer mission Ursula Gacek, quoted by TASS.
The organization's representatives will remain in the United States longer than anticipated. They will be in key states until all votes have been counted.
“This election is not over yet, and we remain here in [metropolitan] DC and key states across the country until that happens. It is imperative that every correctly submitted ballot is properly counted, ”Gacek said, answering journalists' questions in Washington.
Earlier, the OSCE accused the current American leader Donald Trump of using his official position in the US presidential elections. The head of the observer mission from the organization, Michael Georg Link, said that the Republican had allegedly falsified the electoral process in the United States without evidence.
November 3 is general election day in the United States. Citizens elect a president and vice president, and 35 senators, the entire House of Representatives, 13 governors and local government representatives will be elected. The current head of state, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, who served as vice president under Barack Obama, are fighting for the top post.
