Alexei Navalny completely recovered after he was taken out of a medical coma in the German clinic “Charite”. Der Spiegel reports.
According to the newspaper, the patient's state of health is “better than one would expect in such a situation.” It is also reported that Navalny remembered the events that preceded his poisoning.
Doctors said that physically Navalny will be able to recover at least 90 percent, and mentally he has already recovered almost completely.
Earlier, the chief toxicologist of the Omsk region, Alexander Sabaev, described the consequences of the entry of “Novichok” into the human body. He stressed that if the substance got into the blood, the patient would die in the first few hours after poisoning.
Navalny became ill on August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow. In the first two days, the blogger was assisted by doctors from the Omsk hospital. They also introduced him to an artificial coma. On August 22, the patient was sent to a clinic in Berlin.
On September 2, the German government announced that military toxicologists had found traces of a substance from the Novichok group in Navalny's body and called on the Russian government to respond to this information. Moscow, in turn, said that they are waiting for a response to the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia to the Ministry of Justice of Germany.
