The latest Kirin processors for Huawei smartphones have been revealed. This is reported by the publication GizmoChina with reference to the network insider Teme.
Huawei intends to unveil the Kirin 9000 processor line, which will include the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E chips, sources said. The insider believes that the 9000E processor will be more powerful and will be designed for devices with support for fifth generation networks. The journalists recalled that in 2019 Huawei released a couple of new chips – Kirin 990 and 990 5G.
Experts point out that the new processors will be the latest Kirin chips that Taiwanese company TSMC produces for Huawei. In the future, the Chinese corporation will not be able to rely on its partner due to American restrictions. In May, TSMC stopped accepting orders for the production of processors for Huawei smartphones.
The latest Kirin-powered device is expected to be the flagship Mate 40. The smartphone will be announced in October and the next generation chips will be unveiled shortly.
In early September, Huawei said it expects a positive resolution to the processor-related situation. Top managers of the corporation noted that due to US sanctions, Huawei will invest in its own company HiSilicon and establish the production of chips.
