A large number of Russians support the war in Ukraine.
Russians continue to steadily support the war against Ukraine. In addition, the “number” of Putin’s fans is only growing.
This is stated in a survey by the independent Levada Center.
According to the survey, as of November 2023, the majority of respondents (74%) support the war, 18% of respondents do not support it.
“Over the past five months, the share of respondents who believe that the war against Ukraine is continuing successfully has continued to grow. In November of this year, 66% of respondents thought so (55% in June),” the report says.
At the same time, the share of Russian residents showed the highest figures for the entire period of observation – the same as in October 2022 (after the defeat of Russian troops in the Kharkov region and the announcement of mobilization) 57% of respondents stated the need to start negotiations.
36% of respondents are in favor of prolonging hostilities.
Among those surveyed on November 23-29, 2023, 1625 people.
The study is conducted at the respondent’s home through a personal interview. Statistical error (probability 0.95) does not exceed 3.4%.
Let us add that in the United States of America more than 47% of Americans believe that assistance for Ukraine should remain on the “Direct Line” with Putin: in ISW named the question of most interest to Russians: levels or to be strengthened.
