Israeli company Elbit Systems has received from the Jerusalem documents authorizing the modernization of the Ukrainian fighters of the fourth generation MiG-29. This information was confirmed in a Defense Express, a Ukrainian defense Ministry.
Consulting Agency reports that the documentation spelled out the peculiarities of interaction between Ukrainian and Israeli sides in the programme, in particular the issues of compatibility of various systems of the fighter and responsible for their integration.
Defense Express writes that the improvements “make a quantum leap in increasing the combat capabilities of the MiG-29”. The fighter will get a new onboard radar and weapon control system.
In June, the Agency wrote that many owners of MiG-29 fighters, in particular Bulgaria, unsuccessfully trying to sell them, purchasing a new aircraft, but did not find the right buyers.
