In Kherson, Russian invaders kidnapped Dmitry Afanasyev, a deputy of the Ship District Council, the head of the European Solidarity faction.
This was announced by the deputy of the Kherson Regional Council Serhiy Khlan.
According to him, on Tuesday, March 22, during the dispersal of the pro-Ukrainian rally, the invaders severely beat Dmitry Afanasyev when he tried to protect his wife. The man was hospitalized with numerous bruises and broken ribs.
Two hours later, the Russian military came home to Afanasyev and ransacked it.
— The occupiers found IDs of the deputy of the district council, seized video from surveillance cameras and mobile phones of family members. All the men who were in the house were detained, among them were friends of Dmitry, – said Sergey Khlan.
The next day they came again with a search and released one of the detainees, who reported the cruel torture. The rest of the detained men are still in captivity.
It should be noted that Dmitry Afanasyev is an employee of Kherson State University.
