Poland has nothing to do with the search for Ukrainians who will join the so-called Ukrainian Legion, which will undergo training in the country.
The Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland stated this on on Polish Radio Pavel Zalewski.
He noted that the bilateral security agreement providing for the training of the Ukrainian Legion in Poland does not contain any additional obligations for Warsaw. Among other things, a legion is a voluntary formation.

— The Polish state does not take any part in this process, because it cannot, by law. Therefore, recruitment will take place with the help of Ukrainian consular offices,” he says.
Preparation of the Ukrainian Legion
The Deputy Chairman of the Polish Ministry of Defense noted that those who joined the legion will be “conscripted into the Ukrainian army according to Ukrainian rules in Ukrainian consular offices”, and on Polish soil “ ;will undergo basic training, which will be provided by the Polish army”.
– Responsibilities, in terms of equipment, will be clearly distributed between what the Polish side offers and what the Ukrainian side guarantees, explained Zalewski.
After training, soldiers from the Ukrainian Legion will go to Ukraine “and there, in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and in accordance with the tasks they receive, they will perform military service on the front line”.
In addition, according to Zalewski, volunteers after completing military service “will have the right to return to where they left, to where their families remained.
Recall that Ukraine and Poland signed an agreement on security guarantees, which provides for the creation of a volunteer legion in Poland with the possible participation of foreigners.
