Three suspects in the case of supplying low-quality clothing to the Ukrainian Armed Forces worth almost 1 billion UAH were taken into custody.
Such preventive measures were chosen by the Pechersky District Court of the capital at the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Court decisions will be valid until March 16.

The Grinkevich Case
The companies of Lviv businessman Igor Grinkevich were winners in 23 tenders for the supply of clothing to the Ministry of Defense worth more than UAH 1.5 billion.
Several months ago, the State Bureau of Investigation opened criminal proceedings into transactions involving the purchase of clothing and linen for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What was established during the investigation
During the investigation, it was established that enterprises controlled by the businessman, which were previously engaged in construction and did not have adequate production, warehouse and other facilities for the production and storage of clothing for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, were involved in the implementation of defense orders.

Law enforcement discovered complete non-fulfillment of six contracts.
At least under seven contracts, enterprises delivered goods to the warehouses of military units only in small quantities, but received government funds for full fulfillment of obligations.
It was also established that eight contracts were completed with a delay of three to five months.
Analysis of foreign economic contacts and customs documents of these enterprises revealed facts of overestimation of the cost of goods supplied to the Ministry of Defense.
The SBI also began to check for involvement in transactions of former officials of the Ministry of Defense, who did not take any legal action to ensure the implementation or termination of contracts.
Detention of Grinkevich
December 29, 2023 employees of the State Bureau of Investigation detained a Lviv businessman for attempting to bribe one of the leaders of the Main Investigation Department for $500 thousand.
A businessman offered a bribe for assistance in returning property seized from companies under his control during a criminal investigation.
Reaction of the Ministry of Defense
At the beginning of January, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine decided to terminate the agreement with Lviv businessman Igor Grinkevich.
January 17, the Ministry of Defense filed an application with the State Bureau of Investigation to recognize itself as the injured party in the case against companies affiliated with the scandalous businessman Igor Grinkevich.
Announcement of suspicions
January 17, five people were informed of suspicion of creating and participating in a criminal organization, of taking someone else’s property through abuse of trust (fraud), committed under martial law, on an especially large scale (Part 5 of Article 190 , part 1, 2 of article 255 of the Criminal Code).
The article sanctions provide for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
The fourth participant in the criminal scheme has been in custody since December 29, 2023, the fifth (a close relative of businessman Grinkevich) has been put on the wanted list.
