Ukraine will probably receive the JASSM air-to-surface cruise missiles. But they are unlikely to be transferred immediately.

Retired British Major General Chip Chapman told Channel about this, noting that JASSM are high-precision long-range cruise missiles. There are two modifications – with a range of 370 kilometers and over 900 kilometers.

When will Ukraine receive JASSM

As Chapman noted, most likely, the decision on the transfer of these missiles will be made in the fall of 2024. It can also be assumed that the United States will transfer the version with a range of 370 kilometers. After all, their stock is somewhat larger.

As with everything else, we must pay attention to timeliness. The decision will probably be made in the fall. And the deliveries will take place in a few months. Now this weapon will not affect the events in the Kursk or Donetsk regions in any way. From the Ukrainian perspective, of course, it would be better to get missiles with a longer range, Chapman said.

Ukraine is currently using its own weapons for long-range strikes on Russian territory. There have already been many effective attacks. But it is clear that Ukraine still needs JASSM missiles and permission to strike Russian territory with Western weapons.
