New Zealand announced an aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 16 million New Zealand dollars, which is equivalent to $9.8 million.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand announced this on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington Christopher Lacson, reports the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia Vasily Miroshnichenko.

  • 6 million New Zealand dollars ($3.68 million) – for the army;
  • 10 million New Zealand dollars ($6.12 million) – for humanitarian aid.

Military aid includes $2.45 million for the drone coalition led by the UK and Latvia and $1.23 for Ukraine's military medical needs, Miroshnichenko adds.

— New Zealand understands that although we are far from Ukraine, what happens there affects us all, and we are committed to supporting Ukraine for the long haul, — he said.

In total, the country has already provided 130 million New Zealand dollars in aid to Kyiv (about $79.5 million).

In addition, in the coming days, New Zealand will announce new sanctions against individuals and legal entities of Russia due to the war against Ukraine.
