— The reports of international election observation missions clearly indicate that the presidential elections of July 28 did not meet international standards of electoral integrity, — the report says.
The EU Council noted that without published voting results — elections cannot be recognized.
Brussels also notes that any attempt to delay the full publication of the official voting protocols “will only cast doubt on the veracity of the officially published results”.
The leaders of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and France have also expressed “strong concern” about the situation in the country following the disputed presidential elections.
— We call on the Venezuelan authorities to immediately publish all the voting results. The rights of all Venezuelans, especially political leaders, must be respected during this process. We strongly condemn any arrest or threat against them, the statement said.
The EU leaders noted that such a step was necessary to “recognize the will of the Venezuelan people”.
The United States and Latin American neighbors Argentina, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador and Uruguay also rejected the election results.
Venezuela Presidential Elections
The presidential elections in Venezuela took place on July 28. 12 million Venezuelans took part in the vote.
However, according to Antony Blinken, the vote counting and announcement of the results by the National Electoral Council (CNE), controlled by Maduro, were carried out with serious violations.
