In Kyiv and the region, Lviv, Sumy, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava and Dnepropetrovsk regions, emergency power outages are introduced.
Lights out in Ukraine
Ukrenergo noted that from 21:00 to 24:00 they are forced to introduce controlled emergency shutdowns in all regions of Ukraine.
— Reason — a significant shortage of electricity in the system as a result of Russian shelling and increased consumption due to cold weather.
Tomorrow, May 15, for industrial consumers, power outage schedules in Ukraine will be valid throughout the day — from 00:00 to 24:00.

At the same time, the energy supply to critical infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine is not limited.
— Approximately up to 10% of consumers are disconnected by the end of the day, — Vladimir Kudrytsky, head of the board of NEC Ukrenergo, said on the air of the telethon.
According to him, the sudden introduction of emergency shutdowns occurred due to a sharp increase in electricity consumption.
In particular, this is due to the colder weather. The energy system could not cope, so restrictions were introduced for the population, Kudritsky said.
The Ukrenergo company adds that due to Russia’s massive shelling of Ukrainian energy facilities, there is now a shortage of electricity.
When the electricity will be turned on in Kyiv
After missile attacks on energy generating facilities, a significant deficit remains in the Ukrainian energy system.
Reason — large-scale damage to Ukrainian power plants, due to which they cannot produce as much electricity as before the attack, was explained in KGVA by the blackout in Kyiv.
— Due to these reasons and increased consumption due to cool weather, emergency shutdown schedules are being introduced in Kyiv, in particular for the population. The volume of outages is insignificant, about 10% of consumers, — the message says.
The shutdowns will be in effect until approximately 23:00 this day. There are also restrictions for industrial consumers, added the KGVA.
Residents of Ukraine are urged to limit consumption to maintain the stability of the energy system. KGVA notes that it is now necessary to save electricity.
