An earthquake occurred in southern Italy. Its strength was about 5.0 on the Richter scale.

Vibrations of the earth's surface occurred in the Calabria region. Actually, this happened late in the evening of August 1.

According to monitoring groups, the earthquake was felt over a large area. However, there were no reports of major damage.

The Italian fire service said they had not received any information about damage or requests for help as a result of the earthquake.

Note that the National Institute of Geophysics and Italian Volcanology (INGV) said that the epicenter of the tremors was near the city of Cosenza in the Calabria region and occurred at 21:43 local time.

Italian experts indicated that the magnitude of this earthquake was 5.0.

However, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) estimated it at 4.6 points, although at first they gave 5.3 points.
