Destruction of Russian boats in Crimea

May 30, a special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Group 13, with the help of Ukrainian Magura V5 maritime attack drones, attacked a Russian ship and boat in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported.

According to Ukrainian intelligence officers, the Russian occupiers, to repel the attack of our naval drones on the approach to Uzkaya Bay, scrambled military aircraft 32 times, in particular Su-27/30/35, MiG-29, Be-12, An-26 aircraft and helicopters Ka-27/29 and Mi-8.

The Russians also randomly used small arms and 30-mm cannons.

— However, nothing prevented the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry from successfully completing the combat mission: as a result of the strike, two Russian boats were destroyed — according to preliminary data, high-speed transport and landing KS-701 Tuna, — the message says.

Subsequently, the Main Intelligence Directorate clarified the information about the night raid of sea drones into the area where Russian boats were located. According to updated data, as a result of the operation, Group 13 special forces, in addition to two destroyed enemy boats KS-701 Tuna, hit two more ships of the same type.

Russia is building up its forces in the Kharkov region

Russian occupiers continue to build up the grouping of their troops in the Kharkov region, but this is not enough for a full-scale offensive and breakthrough of our defense, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky on Thursday, May 30.

According to Syrsky, the enemy continues to build up the grouping of its troops in the direction of the main attack by Strelech — Liptsy and in the Volchansk region by transferring additional regiments and brigades from other directions and training grounds.

— However, these forces are now not enough for a full-scale offensive and breakthrough of our defenses. In addition, the enemy’s actions are complicated by strengthening our defense due to timely decision-making on the transfer of reserves to dangerous areas, — the message says.

The creation of an ammunition reserve, according to him, also influenced the reduction of its offensive capabilities and the effective defeat of the invaders.

Denmark advocates using its weapons to strike the Russian Federation

Ukraine can use weapons donated by Denmark to strike Russian territory, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said.

— Ukraine can use what we transferred, including beyond its borders, that is, for purposes in Russia, if it complies with international law, — she said, writes TV2 Nyheder.

Lithuania joined the air defense coalition for Ukraine

Lithuania has joined the coalition of countries that provide assistance to Ukrainian air defense, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said.

— I am pleased to announce that Lithuania is joining the air defense coalition led by Germany, France and the United States. We will make our contribution by providing Ukraine with mobile air surveillance radars, — Nauseda wrote on the social network X.

He called military support for Ukraine decisive.

— Ukraine needs weapons, not promises. Let's back up our words with action, — Nauseda noted.

President Vladimir Zelensky responded to Nauseda's statement and wrote that Lithuania's contribution is “very valuable” for Ukraine.

Stoltenberg on the conditions for Ukraine’s victory

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine retains a high chance of winning the war with the Russian Federation. However, this is only possible under the obligatory condition of systemic and regular support from the Western allies.

The politician said this during a press statement together with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on the first day of a two-day informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Prague.

— Ukraine continues to fight bravely, but the challenges facing Ukrainians are great and growing. Ukraine can still win. But subject to continued active support from NATO allies, — noted Stoltenberg.

Security agreement between Ukraine and the United States

The United States is close to signing a new bilateral security treaty with Ukraine, which should secure the Ukrainian state in the coming years.

According to the Financial Times, the document will be “the most significant in a series of agreements” concluded by Ukraine with NATO countries, which set out commitments for long-term support, including military training, intelligence sharing and economic assistance.

Days before the peace summit, Zelensky and Biden are expected to sign a bilateral security agreement on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in Italy next month, US officials told the FT.

Negotiations on this agreement took place over several weeks, as relations between Kiev and Washington became increasingly tense.
