Reservation of military personnel: how it happens
It is noted that since the beginning of a full-scale war, the Ministry of Economy has adopted about 31,246 orders for the reservation of persons liable for military service for enterprises, institutions or organizations, of which approximately 16,297 are active.

As the department explains, reservations are carried out in accordance with the appropriate procedure during martial law, which was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on January 27, 2023.
At the same time, the ministry points out that the document provides for different deferment periods, therefore “the total number of people booked is constantly changing”.
In particular, the reservation procedure determines different deferment periods for different categories of military personnel, for example:
- within the mobilization period;
- for the duration of the contract for the supply of goods, performance of work and provision of services necessary to meet the needs of the Armed Forces or other military formations;
- 12 months;
- for the duration of the contract or the period for which the person liable for military service was elected or appointed.
In addition, the procedure regulates the procedure for canceling a deferment on the basis of a reasonable proposal from a government body, another government body, local government, or an enterprise, institution and organization.
