In the metropolitan area, private gatherings will be limited to six people.

South Korea limits the number of participants in private gatherings and imposes restrictions on the operation of cafes and restaurants in order to counter the spread of the coronavirus.

Interfax writes about this with reference to the Yenhap agency.

South Korean Prime Minister Kim Boo Gema said that starting next week, the number of participants in private gatherings in the capital region of the country will be limited to six people. In other regions, no more than eight people are allowed to gather. Currently, the limit is 10 people in the metropolitan area and 12 in other regions. In addition, he added, most public institutions, including restaurants and cafes, will be added to the list of businesses requiring vaccination confirmation or negative COVID-19 test to enter.

“Even after today, the government will regularly assess all conditions of protection against viruses, and, if necessary, at any time to take prompt measures to strengthen the anti-virus campaign, “he added.

The Prime Minister called on the elderly to receive a booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, and get vaccinated, claiming that vaccines are the best protection against disease. He also asked businesses that employees work from home as much as possible by the end of the year.

In recent days, the country has seen an increase in new cases of COVID-19 infection – more than 5 thousand were registered per day.

As a reminder, in order to counter the spread of the new COVID-19 strain from November 29, Israel closed the borders to foreign citizens. More details on the rules of entry for foreigners can be found on the website of the Government of Israel.
