US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken phoned Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. This was reported in a statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

It is noted that the telephone conversation was held at the initiative of the American side. The Foreign Ministry said that the Russian side during the conversation stressed the need to continue the joint work of Moscow and Washington on security guarantees.

“Lavrov emphasized the inadmissibility of aggressive rhetoric whipped up by Washington and its closest allies, calling for a pragmatic dialogue on the entire range of issues raised by Russia, with an emphasis on the principle of the indivisibility of security,” the ministry said in a statement. In addition, Lavrov and Blinken discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels.

Earlier, Lavrov said that Russia would soon publish its US and NATO response to proposals for security guarantees. “Of course, we will publish this document. We have nothing to be ashamed of,” the diplomat said.
