On Saturday, July 13, power outage schedules in Ukraine will be in effect for 24 hours.
Such measures will be taken due to abnormal heat in Europe with a significant deficit in the Ukrainian energy system after Russian massive strikes.
Power outage schedules in Ukraine on July 13
Ukrenergo reported that from 6:00 to 19:00 regional power companies will apply two stages of outages simultaneously.
Now watching
In all other times — three power outage queues will be in effect.
The general director of the Yasno energy company, Sergei Kovalenko, reported on his Facebook that over the last week it has been “raining” in Kyiv, but this does not concern precipitation, but “constant dripping from air conditioners”.
— The heat is incredible. The thermometer is rising, but so is consumption. During this work week, there was only one day where we did not have Ukrenergo restrictions of four outage queues/groups out of six. And this is almost 70% of people who are constantly disconnected. Most of the time, three queues/groups were down. That is, almost the entire week there was a schedule with light gray zones, — he wrote.
According to him, tomorrow, July 13, despite the same hot weather, the situation will be “a little better”, but light gray zones with outages from 00:00 to 06: 00 am and from 19:00 to 00:00 the next day “also possible”.
He once again reminded about the functioning of the light gray zones:
- when the NEC gives restrictions on one or two lines, then the electricity in the light gray zones will be;
- when there are restrictions of three queues, then there may be no light in one of the queues with light gray zones for 1-2 hours. During subsequent outages, there will be no electricity in the light gray slots in another queue;
- when the restrictions are four queues — there will be no light throughout the light gray zone.
Recall that previously Ukrenergo planned to lift restrictions for each region on one day during July 9-24 in order to measure the actual level of consumption.
However, due to a significant power shortage in the energy system and increased consumption due to the heat, blackout schedules in Ukraine will remain in effect without exception.
Planned blackouts – how long will they last
According to the head of the board of NEC Ukrenergo Vladimir Kudrytsky, planned power outages can be carried out throughout the summer, autumn and all of next winter.
– “As we announced, hourly shutdown schedules will be applied for industry and the population due to the fact that the energy system does not have enough power to cover the evening peak of consumption,” Kudritsky said.
Where to see scheduled power outages
Ukrenergo has already carried out work in its branches to designate consumption limits for each region.
You can get information about the schedules of hourly power outages in a certain region of Ukraine in the consumer’s account, on the official websites of oblenergos, as well as on pages on social networks.
Ukrenergo claims that the volume of hourly power outages is distributed evenly between the regions of Ukraine.
Recall that after the Russian army resumed targeted attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities in the spring of 2024, the most destruction was caused by shelling on March 22 and 29, April 11 and 27, May 8 and June 1, 20 and 22 .
As a result, the country lost 9 GW of production capacity of Ukrainian power plants.
This power is equal to the consumption in summer during peak hours in European countries such as the Netherlands, Finland or simultaneously in Slovakia and the Baltic countries.
