The only guarantee of Ukraine's security is NATO membership. Therefore, Western partners must finally stop being afraid of Russia and its blackmail and provide an official invitation to the Defense Alliance.

“When we communicate with our European parliamentarians, representatives, for example, of the Baltic countries, they say in informal conversations that when they were accepted into the Alliance, they were not as ready as Ukraine is now ready “- said Galina Vasilchenko.

Although there will probably be no official invitation, we see that Ukraine is being offered closer cooperation, strengthening air defense, and assistance in providing aircraft. Despite this, it is clear that we strive for a clear understanding and specific steps that must be taken to become a full-fledged partner of NATO.

Galina Vasilchenko noted that even at this stage Ukraine could strengthen NATO. Not only are we asking for help, but we also have a powerful, modern army with many years of combat experience.

With our full membership we will strengthen the position of NATO. This is about mutual cooperation, partnership, and not just about assistance in one direction or the protection of one country,” the people’s deputy emphasized.
