The armed forces of Azerbaijan are deploying armored vehicles and soldiers in the Agdam region that has come under the control of Baku. It was also noted that the area was cleared beforehand. This was reported by the country's Defense Ministry.
“Engineering and sapper works have been completed, as well as prepared for the operation of the road along the routes. At present, measures are underway to deploy personnel and armored vehicles of the Azerbaijani army units in the territory of the Aghdam region,” the ministry said in its Telegram.
Let us recall that the armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh began on September 27. Active battles began on the disputed territory. OSCE leaders have repeatedly called for an end to the bloodshed.
Baku and Yerevan made several attempts to conclude a truce, but they all failed. Only on November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed an agreement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Karabakh. The main conditions of the peace treaty were – a ceasefire, the introduction of Russian peacekeepers into the region, the exchange of prisoners and the bodies of killed soldiers.
