Who can receive child benefits for a single mother
Children's assistance to single mothers is assigned regardless of receipt of other types of social assistance for children.

- single mother, unmarried;
- single adoptive parents, if the child’s birth certificate does not contain an entry about the child’s father or mother or the entry was made at the direction of the mother (adoptive parent, father) of the child in the prescribed manner by the state civil registration authority;
- widow (widower) with children or mother (father) of children in the event of the death of one of the parents, whose marriage was dissolved before the day of death, and who do not receive a survivor’s pension or other social pension for them .
However, if a single mother, in the event of the death of her husband, whose marriage was dissolved before the day of death, entered into a marriage, then she retains the right to receive benefits for children born before marriage, provided that the children were not adopted by the new husband (wife).
What help can a single mother have in 2024
In 2024, assistance is the difference between 100% of the cost of living per child and the average monthly total income per family member.
Maximum payments to single mothers in 2024 are:
- 2 563 UAH — if there are children under 6 years old;
- 3 196 UAH — if there are children aged 6 to 18 years.
For in-patient students aged 18 to 23 years they pay 3,028 UAH.
To receive help, a single mother must contact the social security authorities, write an application and provide documents confirming her status as a single mother.
