Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will arrive in Belgium for the EU summit. The meeting is due to take place on June 27 in Brussels.

Zelensky will come to the EU summit

Charles Michel said that his meeting with Vladimir Zelensky in Brussels will begin on Thursday, June 27, at 14:00. Politicians will first exchange new information regarding the latest developments in Ukraine and the EU.

This will be an opportunity to discuss the situation on the ground, as well as take note of some achievements since our last meeting. In particular, this European Council will be an opportunity to welcome the adoption of the negotiating framework and the holding of Intergovernmental Conferences with Ukraine, Moldova and Montenegro. These are historic steps to support these countries' respective paths to European membership, noted the President of the European Council. Russian assets to support Ukraine this year. Over the next years, according to the President of the European Council, the EU, together with its partners, will provide loans for Ukraine for a further 50 billion euros.

“It is also extremely important that we strengthen military support for Ukraine , focusing on air defense, ammunition and missiles. In addition, we must continue to rally broad international support for a just peace in Ukraine based on the UN Charter,” Michel emphasized.

Earlier, Ukraine and the EU began negotiations in Luxembourg on our state’s entry into the union. The EU countries have already presented a negotiating framework for the Ukrainian side.
