Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump have already had a telephone conversation, the head of the OP Andriy Yermak reported.

“A very important and meaningful conversation between the presidents. All the details will be available very soon,” Yermak wrote.
According to media reports, Trump and Zelensky planned to discuss an abrupt end to the supply of American weapons to Kyiv.
Although Suspilne, citing a source, wrote that preparations for the conversation began even before official information about the suspension of deliveries appeared.

According to FT sources, Zelensky was supposed to raise the issue of potential future arms sales. The president assured that Ukraine was ready to buy a “large aid package” from the US. Kyiv has already handed over a list of the weapons it wants and is waiting for a response.
The latest $500 million aid package was announced back in January under President Joe Biden. In March, it was reported that Ukraine had received 90% of the weapons allocated by the previous US president.
In early July, American media reported that the Pentagon had decided to suspend deliveries of some air defense missiles and other precision-guided munitions to Ukraine (promised during Biden's tenure) due to concerns that the US arsenals had become too small. As noted, the decision was made by the head of the Pentagon's political department, Elbridge Colby, after inspecting the stockpiles.
