Despite the war and other global challenges, on August 22, a new diplomatic-secure format “Kyiv Initiative” was founded. Ukraine's European neighbors are already participating in its work.
President Volodymyr Zelensky told the first details during his traditional address to Ukrainians, channel 24 reports.
< p> Zelensky noted that the following have already joined the new format:
- Poland,
- Hungary,
- Romania,
- Slovakia ,
- the Baltic states.
We will evenly involve other countries. In the format of the “Kyiv Initiative” work takes place at the level of foreign policy advisers to the heads of state. On the part of Ukraine, these are Andriy Sybiha, Andriy Yermak, – the Ukrainian leader explained.
According to him, this format will allow us to strengthen interaction in the region, the overall protection of our interests, especially security ones. This is a very promising line of our work in the Euro-Atlantic area.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned another initiative of the Crimean Platform. He noted that Ukraine is already fully prepared for the second summit.
“This year's summit will be even stronger than last year, both in terms of participants and topics of discussion. We are significantly expanding the format of the Crimean Platform “, the President announced.

What issues will be discussed at the Crimean Platform Summit:
- the role of the occupation and the consequences that we collectively have as a nation.
- will expand the context of the occupation of the South which borders Crimea;
- the Black and Azov Seas and freedom of navigation and food danger as a result will be a separate topic;
- further steps to violate international humanitarian law and human rights. There will be talk about political prisoners, pressure on Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars;
- strengthening the policy of non-recognition and tightening sanctions.
Earlier, the permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea, Tamila Tasheva, told Channel 24, that at the summit they will talk, in particular, about the use of the annexed Crimea as a military base for the occupation of the South of Ukraine and the liberation of the peninsula itself. Yes, they state that Crimea has been used as a military base for 8 years.
