President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law guaranteeing the full return of bank deposits if the bank fails to fulfill its obligations during martial law and three months later.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada's financial committee noted that the amount guaranteed by the state will increase to UAH 600,000 three months after martial law was lifted, which means a threefold increase from the current UAH 200,000.
He added that the decree also provides for restructuring the debt obligations of the Deposit Guarantee Fund to the Ministry Finance, and also establishes that Oschadbank Art is not a member of the guarantee system.
The law enters into force on the day following the day of its publication, except for the provisions regarding the amount of reimbursement of funds on deposits in the amount of at least UAH 600,000 , which come into force three months after the day following the day of termination or lifting of martial law in Ukraine,” Hetmantsev said.
