Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called a meeting with White House chief Donald Trump an important, but not the only goal of a possible trip to the NATO summit.

Zelensky noted that during the G7 summit in Canada, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed his desire to see Ukraine among the participants of the NATO summit in The Hague.
In addition, Ukraine is interested in meeting with the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, which, according to the president, is planned to be held during the summit, if he goes. Among the main topics is the supply of Patriot air defense systems, because this, as the president noted, is not only a question for Trump.
Regarding a potential meeting with Donald Trump, Zelensky noted that there is already a good dialogue between Deputy Prime Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and Finance Minister Scott Bessent due to the agreement on subsoil. In Canada, they discussed the mineral agreement and joint steps. In addition, the Ukrainian side handed over a list of the necessary weapons.
— We will wait for feedback. There is a very large sum. It includes Patriot systems. As I said, we are ready to find money for this entire package. This is one of the topics for discussion with President Trump. It seems to me that we need to discuss sanctions as well, — Zelensky said.
In his opinion, there is a need to discuss with the US President a “new breath in the diplomatic track.” He emphasized that a clearer position and stronger pressure from the world on Putin are needed for successful diplomacy.
When asked by a journalist whether he would attend the NATO summit even without guarantees of a meeting with Trump, Zelensky replied that he had not yet made a final decision, but the likelihood was high.
– Actually, I will decide the day before. I certainly want to hold several meetings. And there are corresponding invitations from the king (of the Netherlands – Ed.) and from the prime minister (Dick Schoff – Ed.). We have very good relations with him. And he provides great support. I think the third largest in Europe, – the president said, adding that the meeting with Trump is also very important.
Zelensky added that there is a trilateral proposal involving NATO, the EU and Ukraine. In addition, separate meetings of NATO foreign ministers and defense ministers together with Ukraine are already planned on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
