Ukraine will not take steps to join NATO yet/Channel 24 collage
Due to the position of individual member countries, Ukraine will not yet initiate any steps to join NATO. So far, the main requirement for the Alliance is more severe warnings from Russia.
Deputy head of the President's Office Igor Zhovkva said this in a new interview. According to him, Zelensky will speak at the G7 and NATO summits via video link and express Ukraine's position.

According to Zhovkva, at the Madrid NATO summit, which will be held on June 29-30, the Alliance will agree on a new strategic concept. The previous version obliges NATO to develop partnership with Ukraine.
Zhovkva said that today Kyiv recognizes the impossibility of joining NATO in the short term. However, he expects the Alliance to confirm further partnership.
NATO members have rejected our aspirations. We will not do anything else in this regard,” he said.
He added that NATO members must recognize the situation with what is happening in Europe and Ukraine, otherwise the updated strategy will become another unimportant piece of paper.
< p>Also, Ukraine will put forward a demand that any mention of Russia as a strategic partner be excluded from the concept.
We expect that NATO's strategic concept will contain more stringent and stricter warnings to the Russian aggressor, Zhovkva added.
In addition, the Alliance must include in the document clear and unequivocal warnings from Russia about its aggressive intentions. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will also join the discussion of this issue. He will repeat the demand for treaty security guarantees for Ukraine after the end of the war with Russia.
