Vladimir Zelensky said that elections in Ukraine are “not timely.” The United States commented on the words of the Ukrainian president.

US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a briefing on November 7 that they support democracy in our country. It should be noted that Zelensky said that it is not yet time for large celebrations or other daring things in the rear, writes Channel 24 .

What the US said about the elections in Ukraine

It is important to remember that Ukraine is in this position because Russia continues to wage its full-scale illegal war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian people are fighting for survival, said an American official.

He explained that in the context of elections, it is important to remember that:

• 20% of Ukrainian territory is under occupation;
