The award was announced by the Library Foundation of former US President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. This year, 5 laureates were announced at once.
Vladimir Zelensky has courageously defended democratic ideals and political independence since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Foundation noted.
